This route has access issues. Please read the note available on the Lumpy Ridge page.

Description

This climb is on the BIG boulder about 2 minutes up the Gem lake trail (on the NE side). Leave the parking lot going towards Twin Owls and it will be the first BIG boulder on the left. It's very obvious. As one stands under the large roof (NW side) looking at the bolt ladder you will see a [licheny] crack going up the far left side of the rock- [voila]! There she blows! The start is very steep and will test your [Lowe] ball skills. When the crack runs out, about mid-height, continue via horizontal breaks (mostly hooks)to the anchor. Despite the veggie appearance- this climb is a lot of fun, a good warm up for some of the harder Lumpy clean aid routes. It's about 30-35 feet long. This climb went clean on the first ascent- you do not need any pins or heads. Don't think it's seen a second??

Protection

You need 1 set Small Aliens, 1 to 2 of the first three Lowe balls, 1 set HBs (including smallest) 1 set nuts, 1 #2 Camalot, 1 set of hooks- including a large fish hook. The anchor is 2 good bolts.

This route is not included in the closure! Unless they are closing the Gem Lake trail.

[Don't] forget your crash pad for the start. A sucker belayer/spotter might also come in handy.

Sorry Paco, I didn't think you wanted me to tell people, that you were my belay slave on this one-or that you made me clean it as well!

To reiterate, this route is definitely not closed--it is much closer to the parking lot than to Twin Owls...
