Pre-Crux

Description

This boulder is right on the Inner Canyon Trail in between the Phallic Rock and the powerlines that lead up to the Juggernaut area. Several problems can be done on this boulder including a traverse. The most fun is the overhanging problem on the right. The difficultly could certainly be increased for a SDS but if you're lazy this goes around V0+.

Protection

Exactly 3 BD knifeblades, 2 angles, and one RURP. A double portaledge is mandatory.

The problem in the picture below is actually a bit further down the trail. It's just before you get to the bridge heading West. The problem goes straight up the left section of the slightly overhanging rock. I'd say its about a V1 or V2 at the most. Kinda tricky sequence to start, but once its dialed you got it.

I think the overhanging slap move on Trailside is a tad harder than V0+, not including actually satrting on the 2 lowest holds, which no one does. Be that as it may, the real burly problem I was working way back in the early 90's but never got was to start at the west end, traverse east over to and down into the overhang problem. Its doable, but I'm a fat hen.
