Description

The Whale's Tail is an east facing wall south of lake. This climbing area provides three sheltered routes when winds are picking up through RRCOS.

Getting There

From the main entrance trail, take small trail that branches northwest just south of lake. There is also a scramble from the north end of the Whale from the path that goes north-south along base.

Great climbs on the Whale's Tail, but watch out for poison ivy at the belay station. Especially at Pockets a' Plenty belay station.

Rock is considerably sandier/grittier/less frictiony than on The Whale especially the crux of Jason's Argonaut.
