BETA PHOTO: Going Retro climbs up and right starting in the bo...

Description

This route is considered one of the best sub-M7 single pitch drytool climbs around Ouray. Good introductory drytool lead, as the bolts are really close together. Start by clipping a large old link of chain. Continue up and right past six bolts to a two bolt anchor. This anchor is shared with "The Local Scoop".

Location

Located on the face just to the left of the route "Skylight". This is the left-most route on the face.

Protection

6 bolts.

Who considers this to be "one of the best easy single pitch mixed climbs in Ouray"? The route has only been equipped since the spring of 2007 and most people, I'd bet, don't even know it's there, not to mention that it ain't mixed if there is no ice. FA- Jason Nelson. Same for the one right next to it.

Perhaps I was getting your expectations a little high. The route is well protected, steep, fun, easy, and easy to get to. What else needs to be said, right?
