Kristie midway up Dizzy!!

Description

This is a fine route. Clipping the 3rd bolt is a bit spicy but you are on good holds so stick with it. Depending on how the ice forms it can be a piece of cake or a sting in the tail at the top. This route is very pumpy for the grade and fairly tecnical at the mid section.

Protection

10-12 quickdraws for bolts and fixed gear, and a few srews for the start and end. You will be cliping a fixed Specter on this route so be prepared. It is very fixed as is as "good" as specters get.

Toprope Protection

Ice screws at top of route.

The top has lost a couple of critical holds over the last 3 years, but you can bypass this if the ice is in fat on the dagger. (2006). This route will likely get re-bolted, but the fixed gear should stay in place to keep the flavor.

I believe Jeff Lowe put up the FA, but I could be mistaken.

According to legend this was an old Ice Fest comp route, yes put up by Jeff Lowe. It's a little of a spicey lead (2009) without draws hanging on it, as it would be easy to fall onto the slab below while you're heading up the arete.
