Description

Freed Canyon is located to the north of the Haflin Creek climbs. This is another waterfall ice climb that forms on the east side of the Animas River. The falls are tucked in a small amphitheater not far from the road, a short hike in provides some of the most reliable ice in the area.

Getting There

About 1 mile north of Trimble Lane on CR 250. Find a pullout that is not on private property and does not block the roadway. Try to be respectful of the local land owners. Follow an old road cut for about 15 minutes into the canyon.
