Denver City Parks has completely out done themselves!! With the opening of the new Central Park came a new bouldering area. There is a 30 foot long 8-12 foot tall artificial rock wall that is padded at the bottom with fall cushioning wood chips. I have not been rock climbing for very long and broke my ankle, I have been using this area to make sure that my foot is strong enough to go back out to the cliffs. I do not know much about bouldering so I can not comment on the difficulty, but there is plenty to make you sweat!
Getting There
Central Park is located east of Quebec on Martin Luther King Blvd. in the new Stapleton area. There is no approach other then the 30 seconds it takes to walk from the parking lot. I know this might not be the best thing out there for climbers, but it is awesome for me to run out to on my lunch hour and get in a quick climb. For all you fanatics living in the downtown area who are always frustrated with the travel times to scratch that itch, this is the perfect answer.

Hey, this place is pretty legit, if you don't mind bouldering while a bunch of kids are playing around next to you. I think the traverse is around V2, at least as far as I could flounder across it. I wonder if this sets up a precedent we could exploit. But then Denver denies Sanctuary status and just flat out ignores the voters with the tow-away bill, so law is an arbitrary matter. I guess that makes them a regime.
Visited this area today...tons and tons of kids... like Brendan said, really cool formation, but I couldn't take it seriously with all those little buggers!... I'm 25, not an old man or one to dislike children, but this is a playground!
The left kneebar to tongue grab to right kneebar in the first photo above is not to be missed - probably V4 and an area classic! Hazards include: landing on small children as well as that highly uncomfortable feeling of being the only adult on a playground.
You can climb here. On the Stapleton website under the top 12 things to do, it lists the following as number 6.

The wall is obviously a playground type structure. The law that Mike refers to is probably intended to cover naturally occurring rock or structures/buildings that are not intended to be climbed on.
Like Brendan said, you just have to deal with all the kids.
