BETA PHOTO: Golden Child and Straight Out of Compton.
Description The crux is getting past the first two bolts on very overhanging rock. Bring gear (cams) for the upper crack and rap from the Louisville Slugger anchor. This is a great little route with power moves at the crux.
Location Start 5 feet right of "Louisville Slugger" and 5 feet left of "Straight Out of Compton."
Protection Four quickdraws and some medium to large (blue) Camalots.

By Tony Bubb From: Boulder, CO Jun 5, 2006 rating: 5.11c Crux can by a dyno or a static move out left with a cool pinch and heel to the right in a slot. Both seem like they will be reachy for short folks though.
By Greg Hand From: Golden, CO May 22, 2008 This has one of the better backstep-dropknee moves in the canyon.
