Himalayan Culture and Climbing in the Everest Region of Nepal - presented by Kathleen Haggerty
The evening will focus on the unique, diverse cultures of the high Himalaya and climbing in the Everest Region of Nepal. Photos from local Sherpa Passang Lamu (the youngest women to climb Mount Everest, who has the first ascent of Nangpai Gosam II, and is first woman to teach climbing in Nepal) will be featured. In addition, photos of Fabrizio Zangrilli, who has guided the highest mountains in the world and will be the first to guide K2 this summer. Currently, Fabrizio is guiding an unprecedented journey up a peak that is accessible to all climbers, Island Peak (6189m), in the Everest Region. Please join us for a celebration of authentic Himalayan culture, light appetizers will be available. Show starts at 8:00 PM.
