Vedauwoo Climbing - presented by Robert Kelman
Vedauwoo, Wyoming is an area noted for its climbing, wildlife and western lore. Two hours from the Boulder area, Vedauwoo is notorious for its difficult wide-cracks. Actually, Vedauwoo has a superb variety of slabs, faces and handcracks with over 300 climbs from 5.0 to 5.9 and 400 climbs from 5.10 to 5.13. It’s a great place to learn traditional climbing as the rock is solid, protection is mostly straightforward, approaches are short, and route finding is easy. Robert Kelman, author of Rock Climbing at Vedauwoo, Wyoming, will talk about rock climbing in this oasis in the high plains. Rob has 36 years of climbing experience at Vedauwoo to share with you. And after breaking his back last year, Rob (78 years old) is climbing again and, if asked, will discuss recovery techniques good for young and old. Show starts at 8:00 PM.
