Denver Climbers' Coalition Update
Submitted By: John McNamee on Nov 16, 2008
The DCC is now officially registered with the state as a non-profit corporation. Some interested members met last Sunday with Scott Sinor who has taken us on as pro bono clients. An interim board and elected interim officers based on those who were there on Sunday: Thomas Betterton - President Lyle Guthmiller - Treasurer Angela Anderson - Secretery Ryan Tuleja - Board Member John Anderson - Board Member Open elections at our next official meeting which will be at the end of January. If you are interested in this, please plan ahead to clear your calendars. If you have a preference for a week night that works best to meet, let me know and we will look at the majority response and change the night if we need to. North Table Clean Up Thanks to everyone who was able to make it yesterday! We had a great time and we were able to do some great work. We had a crew working to clean up trails and block a social trail, people eradicating evil spurge and other weeds, and the big project for the day . . . cleaning up the gully area between Little Ox and Industrial Buttress. If you were not there yesterday, be sure to take a look the next time you are at North Table. It looks awesome! Thanks to Fixed Pin Publishing (Jason and Ben) for organizing and getting us all together. And the new guidebooks look for awesome. For those that didn't hear, Fixed Pin has new guidebooks coming out for South Platte and North Table. As soon as they are ready, they will be for sale at Neptune Mountaineering and Bent Gate. Thanks also to the Access Fund for coming down and helping out. It was fun meeting you and working with you and we can't wait to work with you more in the future. Last but not least - thanks to Tony Bubb and Breckenridge Brewery for hooking us up with food and beverages. It provided a great finale to the day!

| It was great to be there and have the chance to interact more with everyone. My hat's off to the organizers and the people who all worked moving big-ass rocks around. I'm excited to get more involved with what seems to be a great bunch of people! Thanks for the Saturday. |

| You guys got climbing access to the Wells Fargo "Cash Register Building"!!! Sweet! I live just 7 blocks away. Anyone have any beta? |

| Technically, it's not rock, sooooo. |

| I wonder if one could pull a permit to climb it... like that guy Alain Robert. "...I have become the best solo climber." lol |

| Mark,
Au Contraire, the side of that building is covered with polished, granite tiles. |

| I hear though, they used to have an ice pitch to top out. |

| Hey Rick, Ya gotta be careful, the thing looks pretty runout! It must be a classic though, cuz it's pretty polished. |

| I live on Stout so I think I have the approach nailed. South on Stout to Broadway, follow Broadway around to 18th ave. Without chalk marks I am unsure how to proceed after that. As far as pro goes, I think a rack of 25 size 0 Master Cams or similar sized aliens will do for a 60M rope and 3-4 point anchors at the (hanging) belays.
I have seen some guys up there doing some aid with really "old school" gear but I am not sure what the sticks with rubber strips on the end and the buckets are for. |

| Okay now Mr. Rick Blair . . . if you are going to hi-jack our thread, the least you can do is join our crew! :) Email me at denverclimbers@yahoo.com
That goes for anyone laughing at the absurdity above also!
If you just want to see what we are up to, visit us at: http://www.denverclimberscoalition.blogspot.com/ Nothing fancy but slightly informative anyway.
Hope to meet more of you soon!
Ang
By the way Rick - thanks for supporting us with the Denver Mountain Parks work. It looks like we will be meeting with them in December or January. |

| Well Ang, something made me laugh so hard when I first saw the logo, my imagination just went wild.
Seriously though, I appreciate your groups work. Email sent.
