Some tips - Before you mail -- fill out USPS Custom Declaration & Dispatch Note - CP72 (PS Form 2976-A) -- itemize everything; get the Priority stickers & mail label with their address and your return filled out; and select Gift & Return to Sender if there's a problem. Most USPS personnel know exactly what you intend to do so they can help if you have questions.

I sent via USPS, and the guy at the counter seemed to know what he was doing (1, 60m, 10.5 rope = $22. shipped)

If you are sending something their way, I remember getting a package from my dad when I was over there last summer...I literally cried after having been there a couple of months and so completely fed up with the BS that I wanted to immolate myself on the ever burning trash pile smoking away a couple of hundred meters from my hootch...but I digress...the absolute best package I received from good old pops was a 1/2 gallon bottle of Capt Morgan. Labeled "family heirlooms" on the custom sheet no less. The biggest morale boost for me and my crew the whole god awful summer. Send 'em some booze...a couple bottles ought to get through.

P.S. I am completely serious about this post. The alcohol policy over there is absolutely asinine. Grown men and women hanging it out and can't even have a beer after a mission to wind down with.... The collective "leader ship" are weak dick mother fuckers who use the Muslim sensitivity argument to protect them from possible discipline problems. Send a case of beer in a brown paper wrapper. A guy on another crew got that nice package from his wife! The guys will know how to deal with it if it shows up, and if it gets caught by customs.

Several years ago some soldier requested the same. I sent a box of holds, t-nuts, bolts,tool, chalk,etc. to an address. Later that year when Urban Climber had a 'homebuilt' wall contest, the winning entry was from some soldiers in Iraq, photo taken in green night vision as they enjoyed. There on wall, I could see MY holds in place! So just a note out to those donating stuff: it's worth it and it gets used. Keep up the good spirits for our men overseas.

I send a lot of packages to Iraq and the US Postal Service is by far the best way to ship. A small box of holds will cost between $10-$20 in shipping and will arrive in approximately 10-15 days. It is possible to us UPS or Fedex for Iraq shipments but the cost is generally 10 times more, it still takes about 10 days, and you would need the actual street address of the recipient (not the APO AE address).
