I’m planning a trip to Cold Mountain (NC) for the end of February and just found out that they don’t allow campfires in that area. Anyone know if this is actually enforced?

Dude, the rule is in place to protect rare plant species you can only find in certain parts of the Appalachains.. why would you ignore the rules to protect what you're trying to visit?!

It is a wilderness area. You shouldn't have a fire because it takes away from the wilderness setting. Please have some integrity and practice LNT always.
