| I need help identifying climbing/skiing/fitness companies near Boston, MA. The only two I know of are: Eastern Mountain Sports New England Ropes I was told Salomon Ski's was out of Boston, MA but cannot find anything for them outside of France. I'm completing my masters in business and need a few names for a project. I'm not looking for retailers such as TNF who might have a store in Boston but rather company's based out of (or major centers of operation) near Boston, MA. | FLAG |

| I'm not sure how "near" you are looking for, but like EMS, IME is based out of North Conway, as well as multiple guiding companies in the area. | FLAG |

| The best climbing gear selection in the Boston area is Rock Spot Climbing Gym in Hyde Park Boston. Theyre also a pretty good bouldering gym if your into that kind of thing... | FLAG |

| Let me clarify, I'm looking for company's who would have major finance and marketing departments. I think IME would be a bit too small as would the local rock gyms. Nemo is a thought... any others? | FLAG |

| The problem is that very few companies that sell climbing products have "major" finance or marketing departments, particularly in the US. You'll find that almost all of them are West Coast based - Black Diamond (UT), REI (WA), Patagonia (CA). Think bigger. New Balance is the only major fitness company I can think of based out of Boston and you've already got EMS in NH. Finally, you should sort out where apostrophes belong (and more importantly, don't belong) before you submit your thesis. Apostrophes aren't for pluralization (ski's, company's = skis, companies). They indicate contractions or possession. | FLAG |
