Hi! We are looking for a great spot where we can park, camp and climb. We have two small children, so ideally, the climbing would not be too far of a hike from the camping. We are based in Fort Collins, and can travel about 3 hours. Any spots anyone can recommend? Thanks!

Vedauwoo is the closest developed area. Lots of fun stuff for kids in addition to climbing.

Climbing above Black Lake
It will be closer to 4 hours but eleven mile canyon is a great place for camping and climbing

Thanks for the suggestions! Is there much sport climbing up at Vedauwoo?

Vedauwoo is mostly crack climbing. Most (maybe all) of the bolted routes are slabs. I've founded the bolts to be reasonably spaced on the slabs I've climbed there. Check out upper Blair, there's a good mix of bolted slab, off width, hands, etc. and a wide a array of grades for the fam.

seconded on shelf road. Elevenmie is fun, but also kind of expensive (entrance feee and pay per camp).
If you've got 4 wheel drive, or at least high clearance two wheel drive, take the north route into shelf. It takes a little while, but the road is gorgeous and you'll see why it got it's name. This is the route through Cripple creek I believe. Have fun!
