For anyone who sits on steepandcheap, tramdock, whiskeymilitia, brociety, etc. on a regular basis, I just made a new website which will save you a lot of time. The website is sacalerts.com and it notifies you by email or text message ONLY WHEN items you want go on sale. You just specify keywords like: climbing, harness, patagonia, etc to trigger your alert and when one of those items goes on sale, you get notified instantly.

Okay, I'm done whoring myself out, but it's seriously useful and saves time/money (from impulse buys when you sit on steepandcheap all day). Check it out.

Does the keyword notification work only for item titles or also for other parts of the item description?

Cool.. the Daily Dose yesterday announced MadRock shoes going up for 85% off but i ended up missing them bc it was a work day. Bah!

The keyword notification only uses the item titles. More specifically, it goes word by word in the title listing and compares these words to the ones specified by the users on sacalerts.com. If a word in the title matches yours exactly (letter case is insignificant), you get alerted.

For the most accurate alerts, I recommend the Wish List feature where you can just check mark specific products that have been listed in the past 24 hours and it will alert you when that exact product goes on sale again. I have noticed that over 75% of items are re-listed within 24 hours.
