Im thinking about buying an older style BD ledge called the "instant doublewide" form an aquantance. I havnt seen the ledge and cant find photos of it online. Anyone know anything about these or have photos/specs?

I don't recall BD ever making a ledge by that name, although the last model year Skylounge (which i own and am a fan of) is folded in a way that it more or less unfolds immediately when you pull the sheath back. (a little caveat, it's still a semi pain in the ass to deploy)

Um, that's just what some people call it.

The beginning of P10's Hook'n traverse, with a few peckers thrown in there for peace of mind. There was a 35' whipper later on in this pitch for me, after the sun went down. Clean though, that's the nice thing about overhanging walls.

semi pain in the ass????

No. Kind of like a full blown PITA.

Still, better/easier than most other things available at the time... maybe even since. For the record, the single skylounge IS a wonderfully easy thing to set up - just take it out the stuff sack. The Double takes a few minutes and a touch more familiarity with it. Don't leave it to your partner who's never set it up.

Climb the steep stuff, flag your ledge. It will minimize the headache spent setting up/breaking down. ;)
