Has anyone modified their climbing gear? I'm sure this is something that people have done. I'm thinking of adding triggers to my old tools (which weren't made for triggers to be added) and was wondering what types of mods people have done to any gear (especially ice gear). And please don't repeat past topics like gri gri mods and so forth.

Yes it may be dangerous, you will die, and blah blah blah.

Do a little dance...

I've added coffee grinder knobs to my screws (Trango, BD Turbo). They seem to work pretty well. Omega Pacific sells them in three-packs for $6. Other projects on tap include adding Grivel triggers to my old BD tools as pinky rests/knuckle bash guards, adding heel lift wires to my snowshoes, and all kinds of pack modifications.

Me

I haven't but I've used a set of BD Cobra's that had the Fang added. It wasn't meant to fit in the spike, but the guy that did it told me he used a dremel tool to shape the insides of the two halves of the Fang. It worked great.

He also had a trigger finger hook that was held on with black tape I believe. He had leashes that clip on (Android?) that were held in place just above the clip with a hose clamp. I climbed several pitches with them and they were awesome.
