Found Mad Rock Haul bags online the other day. Really good price. Does anyone have any personal experience with these bags? How do they hold up? Any info would be great!! Thanks

I'm curious about these too. What do they skimp on to make them so cheap?

If you carry your bag like a backpack and don't drag them up a wall, they'll work.

For hauling, I think they'd die a fast death.

The vinyl is way soft, you can't just leave it open and shoot baskets while packing.

I used them for luggage and was happy with them. They are clearly not as tough as the Fish/BD/Metolius models though.

Me!

Mike,

Do you know that as a fact (1st hand epxerience, or what have you) - or is it a supposition?

I certainly don't mean to attack you, I'd just like to know what you're basing your comment on. I've got a pair of their shoes and they seem to be holding up as well as anything made by 5.10 and they certainly cost a lot less.

I don't have any experience with their wall bags, but when I looked at them I did get kind of curious.

Andy, read my post.

I was trying to be kind. I'll try a different approach.

In my personal experience of over a year with these bags I can say that they are VASTLY inferior to any other haulbag on the market. They do however work pretty well as luggage or a trendy "haul-esque" backpack.

Most of the trade routes of today were put up with canvas duffel bags. A5's bag was 1k denier nylon until the mid 90's. A correctly packed bag doesn't wear much.

With a big load they hurt my shoulders the approach. Also I don't think they will last as long as a Yates, Fish or Metolius...

But if you need a cheap bag and can't pay for the bigger names I think it will be okay. Also, The Bird works for Mad Rock so they can't be bad...
