Anyone used them? I found some super cheap, but are they even worth carrying? (on sale at: http://www.wildernessexchangeunlimited.com/product_detail.cf>>>>>.

They look like they have a very small range compared to CAMP or Trango ball nuts, maybe to the point of uselessness. ie 8-10mm for a #1 Tech Nut vs 6-12mm for a #3 Trango.

Do a little dance...

Looks like there isn't a lot of contact area, at least on the cylinder side, compared with cobras or ballnuts. They claim that they don't weld in quite as badly as other units, but frankly, if something that small saves my hide from a long fall, I don't mind doing a little chiseling to get it out (or not).

I was having a similar thought about the not welding claim. Would not welding in a fall or aiding = not staying put?

If they work as well as ball nuts, then then I'm guessing they suck -- except for aiding. Really, they look like an aid piece, and at that -- one that would damage sandstone due to small contact area.

BTW -- what about adding a last name to your first name, Avery -- this is going to get confusing.
