I just moved into a new apartment building where I cant really hang anything like this on the wall so I want to build a nice free standing frame to put a metolius simulator on that I can put in the doorframe area where it wont take up too much room. Has anyone built one and do you have any pics to point me in the right direction?
Ill probably just get some piping to make a big upside down U, then put another horizontal bar below the top and put two vertical bars between the top 2 to mount the simulator screws in, but I thought maybe someone out there had a better idea that might take up less space since that would need significant length of pipes as a floor support. Maybe just make the upside down U out of wood and drill the suckers in, but again, the floor frame is going to be HUGE. Thanks
I have an iron gym and simulator. I thought about combining them, but now I'm pretty sure I'll get rock rings and hang them off the iron gym.
Keep in mind the iron gym only works on a standard door frame. Standard width and standard molding and standard wall thickness. If any of those are off, it won't work.

Do you two like the Iron Gym? I was tinkering with buying one.
I just hung my finger board on the inside of my closet door, that way the "damage" isn't noticeable when I move out... Hopefully. However, the narrow doorway is kind of annoying at times, but it works.
hmm, well I just talked to the apt mady and she says people hang things like flat screen TV's and its no problem so this wont do much more damage than that right? Just some wood screws above the door frame couldn't be that bad, now I just need to measure how tall the simulator is and how much room I have above the door frame to make sure I dont bash my head on the ceiling.
I ended up hanging a piece of plywood on the wall above the door in my office to hang my simulator on since the mounting holes in the simulator didn't line up with the framing in the wall. It also bumps it out past the door trim so I could mount it a touch lower.
