Just got a brand new pair of shoes a month ago, after bouldering today, there is a 3mm hole under the big toe that goes all the way through the rubber. They dont need to be resoled, just wondering is there any way to fix the hole?? FYI the hole is in the sole and not the rand.

Hello, old friend.

Perhaps a warranty issue?

Contact manufacturer with photos and description.

The 5.10 Stealth Paint kit may be what you need. It's about $16. In my opinion, putting it on has a learning curve, but it may tide you over until it's time for a resole.

Most shoes have a warranty of some sort. I returned some la sportivas for the exact same reason a few weeks ago with no trouble.

just teasin' the sharks...

What brand of shoe is it? Generally 5.10 and Mad Rock are great about replacing shoes with defects. In my experience, Evolv and La Sportiva are terrible about backing up their product. I don't have any experience with the other shoe companies. It's definitely worth sending a picture into whichever company made the shoe.

the shoes are La Sportiva Solutions. The hole resulted from a bad, sharp foothold, that after falling off a few times made a nice little hole! So I'm not sure that a warranty would cover that. But I could give it a try.

Also, any recommendations where to buy stealth paint, any shops around here sell it? or just buy online?

Early morning light on Laurel Mountain, Sierra Eastside.

Maybe try filling in the hole first with some Shoe Goo and then covering that with the Stealth Paint. You'll probably need to touch it up after every outing but it could delay a costly resole.

It is possible there was an air bubble in there that cuased it to pop.
I'd have sportiva check em out just cuase but if it does not effect the performance i'd say save the shipping in to them and climb on them.
