anyone know of anybody who would be willing to sew me up a custom camera bag? I have an odd shaped camera and need a way to carry it climbing.

You should check out Organic Crashpads.
Josh does amazing work and everything he makes is custom one of a kind goods.
This would inclued chalk bags, bouldering mats and bouldering bags
I don't see why he wouldnt be able to do somthing like that.
You should give him a shout.
Here is his website.

Anthony A. sews some really cool stuff ; I'm not sure if he is in the business but he's worth a try.

Which camera model is it? I have found that Lowepro, modular luggage can accommodate almost any type, shape, and size of camera gear - small or large.

I have carried tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment in their luggage, and I alway felt confident in its ability to protect it from impact, rain, and other elements. Lowepro gear is durable, comfortable, and very adjustable.

Here is their link.

Here is my workhorse pack (Lowepro, Photo Trekker):

I use a mamiya 7, but I am looking fro something I can wear and easily access while wear a large pack or climb,... etc. I will contact the www.organicclimbing.com and see what they think. I tried contacting mchale packs.

This is the bag that Lowepro recommends for the Mamiya 7.

Check out the features tab, for the optional chest harness info.

Good luck.

Anyone ever tried a chest pouch? Not sure how often that would get in my way, I was more thinking something to sit under my right arm and hang from my neck with a strap going around my torso to keep it from swinging, when you need it just undo the torso strap and swing the camera up in front of you without removing the strap from under your arm, almost just a small case to fit over the camera where the camera is still supported by the strap mounts... My camera is only 6.25 wide, 4.5 tall and 5.25 from lens to back, none of the regular slr cases seem to fit as it is the same size wide and tall as an slr with grip but way shorter.
