Do older style TCU's have cam stops? Do the ultralights?

the older style had the roll-pin cam stops. The ultralights are milled in, IIRC.

Here are the strength numbers we have for the cam stops on our TCUs and Power Cams. Keep in mind that these numbers are based on a small sample size and in a nearly tipped out position. There is no standardized test for this currently with CE or UIAA so these are not official ratings. Nevertheless, you can see there is a huge difference between the cam stop test results for our two smallest sized cams versus all of the other sizes. This shouldn't really be a surprise to anybody that looks at them and sees how much more aluminum is used on the larger sized units.

#00, #0 - 1.5 kN
#1, #2 - 10 kN
#3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8 - 15 kN

I hope you find this information useful. Again, we always state that our cams are not intended to be used as passive protection.

J.R., Thanks for the clarification. The bigger stops are burlier than I expected whereas the smallest were what I thought they'd be and in line with my expectation for pieces primarily designed for aid.

Thanks. Do the same cam stop strengths apply to master cams?

Avery,
We have not yet done any testing on the cam stops of the Master Cams. We will be as soon as the first production run is complete sometime in January. We expect the numbers to be similar.
