| Alright, I have currently have two other ropes, a 70 meter (for multipitch and indian creek) and a uber light/thin 60 meter (for the mountains and posing as a sport climber)
I've found I don't like using either of these for weekend cragging. I'm looking for a super burly rope to abuse toproping and top rope soloing.
Does any one have any experience/ opinions on fairly cheap durable ropes? I'm not too concerned about any extra features(bicolor, sharp rating, etc..) as I'll only be using it for TR'ing, teaching others to climb, and the occasional easy lead. | FLAG |

| Mammut products. I have a 10.5 mm Flash and it is as burly as they come. Handles a bit like a cable but never had a problem with it. | FLAG |

| I'll second Mammut. I have a SuperSafe that I break out for sharp edges and extended top rope sessions with new people. As Nathan notes, however, it handles like a cable though it has seen a LOT of abuse. | FLAG |

| Have you considered a static? It could double as a haul line and some companies even make "gym statics" designed for repeated abuse.
DOn't lead on it, though | FLAG |

| J- The absolute longest lasting, most burly rope for long TR-ing sessions and rope soloing would be a static line. It would also be the least expensive, this is provided that you don't mind trailing it and using one of your other ropes or hiking to the top of the cliff to get it through the anchors since leading on it would be out of the question. Personally I've had static lines at different times just for the purpose you mention. cheers, BA | FLAG |

| Get a static. It will hold up to abuse very well and if you are ONLY TRing and rope soloing, you don't need to pay for a dynamic line. | FLAG |

| It's obvious, get an 11mm. You can hammer them on top ropes and lead with them anytime. | FLAG |
