Climbing trip with family

We are a Swedish family that plan to travel around California with our two daughters (age 3,5 and 1,5) in march 2017. We are looking for sport climbing (some trad is also interesting) areas with good access. How is the weather in march?

The desert (Joshua Tree) is still nice and less crowded. Not exactly a sport destination, but camping with the kids is a no brainer. The Sierras could still be cold, but could also be warm... Really depends on the year.
The Sierra foothills are usually very nice in the spring.
