Climbing partners in Korea

Hi everyone,

My name is Nate, just got to Seoul, where I'll be for the next 6 months. Looking for people who like to climb around the 5.7-5.10a/b level for the weekends and whatever weekdays I am off. I can lead trad at 5.7 solidly, some type of 5.8 climbs right now, but once I get back into actively climbing and get some routes in I might be able to swing some 5.9 leads. I'll follow up to 5.10a/b, if it's just a pitch or two, but I haven't done any sustained alpine routes over 5.8 though.

I brought tons of gear, double-ish rack, But only 1 60m single rope so someone with another rope would open up options needing two ropes for the rappels down. I even brought my mountain boots, crampons and ice tools for top-roped ice climbing if it comes in by mid December haha.

I did a 12 day intermediate alpine climbing course in the cascades, WA in May, so im pretty up to speed, though I have been lazy all of June so I probably need to get back in shape.

I'll travel anywhere in Korea depending on how many days in a row I have to climb.

Let me know!

If you haven't done so already, check out Korea on the Rocks and post there as well. There are a buch of expats around the area. Korea is a great place to climb both rock and ice. Head out during the week to avoid crowds.

Are you still in Korea? I'm at Osan AB looking for climbing partners. I have a ton of gear and a solid leader at 5.10d

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
