I'm traveling to chilean patagonia in march and april, and I'm hoping to travel and climb a fair amount! I'm planning on taking most of my trad rack (might be leaving some cams at home depending on what I can get into a backpack), rope, axe and crampons. I'll be based primarily in Coyhaique, and plan on spending some time around there and south of there, particularly around cerro castillo, but I'm lacking partners and am open to taking the ferries/buses to get to cochamo or elsewhere if someone is looking to hop on some rock for a week or longer! I'm comfortable leading around 5.8 trad, and have led some 9's and followed a few 10's. My spanish skills were non-existent three month ago and are quickly improving, but still pretty awful. It should be fun.
Let me know if you think you'd like to meet up at all up south, or if you have any advice!
What's up Jon! Adam here, so I'm traveling around chile till the end of March climbing are was looking to be in puerto montt by March for some climbing. I also have a rack and rope with me as well as a tent, basiclly everything. If you wanted to make it to puerto montt and head to the Cochamo from there I would be so down for a week or two. I'm just getting over some tendonitis so climbing at those grades is great for me right now. Hit me up so we can talk some more.
