The Clamshell is a fun crag made up of a handfull of high quality granite boulders. Most of the problems at the clamshell are in the easy to moderate range. Though the approach is one of the longer ones in the area it can be busy, probably because of the concentration of easier problems.

Getting There

The pullout is about 5.2 miles from the beginning of icicle rd the trail head is to the right of a large fist shaped boulder. After a short steep 10 minute hike you should find yourself in the presence of some choice granite boulders.

Start on big holds a few feet right of the crack, and weave your way through the line of least reistance to finish high and slightly right. Great movement and rock, and you get high enough to notice it on this line. Excellent....[more]   Browse More Classics in WA
