Hey all, myself and a few others were hoping to hit City of Rocks for the weekend of the 11th through 13th. From what I understand, only certain parts of the park are closed. Can anyone confirm this or tel me which parts are closed/affected?

The parts of the City that are Federal lands are closed, but there's alot that's open. Roughly, from Campsite 5 up to around Campsite 51 is open. And Castle Rocks is a state park, so that's unaffected.
I talked with them this afternoon and they were very cordial. That leaves alot of the City in the question mark column -- down in the Center? Up by the Breadloaves? I'm not certain once you get down to the nitty gritty, but it's not shut down.
And the weather might improve....

Hey all, any updates would be appreciated. Can you still drive to/climb at the Breadloaves? Parking Lot Rock? I believe they are on Federal land. Is the road blocked? Could a hike-in work?

Thanks!

I was there yesterday climbing at Castle and people said that the upper breadloaves and parking lot rock were closed. They said there was a ranger kicking people out. They said they were going to park at Bath Rock and hike in but I don't know how that turned out. I do know that Castle Rocks was crowded, more that usual, I'm assuming from the closures at City.

Just got back yesterday from the City. Lots of stuff is "closed", ie roads are blocked, but we just climbed whatever we felt like. Access to circle creek was closed, breadloves road was closed, but people were still climbing. A lot of rangers running around telling people what is or isn't accessible. Keep a low profile and you can climb whatever you want!

Just to echo what has been said, a couple of roads, parking lots, and campsites are closed but it will likely have little impact on your visit to the city even without prior knowledge of the specifics, especially if you are willing to be slightly flexible.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
