Description

Facing towards the parking lot for Ryan Mtn., this route is located on the west side of North Cave Rock.

A fun line with newer bolts protecting what I belive to be the route's crux. The third bolt looks like it might hold a feather weight fall but I wouldn't push my luck. The chain anchors are in good shape.

Thank you to whom ever put in the new bolts (2) and took the time to paint them.

Protection

Joshua Tree guide (Vogel, R.) suggests two bolts, however, the first bolt is gone. Two new bolts (3/8") accompany an original (black) third bolt. Chain anchors on top.

A short friction climb close to the car, but nothing to get excited about. One star (maybe) out of five.

Chocolate Chips is the real name for this route; some guidebooks listed this as being on the west side of South Cave Rock, which caused some confusion.
