Description

This small group of boulders sits low on the west face of the Negropolis Hillside, directly below The Negropolis.

An enjoyable collection of problems can be found here ranging from V-easy to V6 in difficulty which can be enjoyed on their own or done as part of circuit. Rock quality here is quite good with most problems offering flat landings free of obstructions.

Getting There

Located 3.4 miles from the Park entrance, 0.4 miles from the Pet Cemetery and 2.4 miles from Trashcan Rock on the east side of the road. Parking is available in a small dirt pullout on the west side of the road (right if driving into the Park) directly across from The Negropolis. Cross the road and follow a worn trail that ends at some dark brown boulders (the Chocolate Boulders) at the base of the hillside. Approach time is about 5 minutes.

Sit start with hands matched on the sloping lip and traverse left on slopers and edges to gain a juggy rail which is followed left around onto the south face of the boulder (finishes right of the Mini-Slab). Fun moves on this problem that's better than it looks. * This problem isn't listed in the Joshua Tree Bouldering Guide but is an obvious line with some good moves that's worth a go when in the area....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
