Chicks with Picks ice climbing scholarship opportunity

We are super psyched to officially announce a call for applications for a new scholarship to the Chicks with Picks “The Quickie” ice climbing clinic, Feb. 1-3, 2013, sponsored by Eddie Bauer First Ascent.

The recipient of this scholarship will receive a “tuition waiver” for the cost of the clinic in a double occupancy hotel room at the Victorian Inn, along with up to $1,000 in Eddie Bauer First Ascent outfitting.

“The Quickie” is a two-day intensive ice climbing clinic in the Ouray Ice Park, with instruction provided at a four-to-one ratio by a Chicks Girly Guide. Applicants for the scholarship can have any degree of ice climbing experience; however, they may not be a former Chicks with Picks ice climbing clinic participant. The applicant must be 18 years of age or older and be in financial need of a scholarship.

The recipient of the scholarship will be responsible for paying their own transportation costs to and from the clinic in Ouray, Colo., along with writing a trip report and taking photos that will be published on both the Chicks Climbing and Eddie Bauer First Ascent web properties.

Chicks Climbing is taking applications for the Eddie Bauer First Ascent “The Quickie” scholarship through Dec. 1, and will announce the recipient by Dec. 15.
