My partner and I are planning to be in the valley the first two weeks in September. What are our chances of getting a site at Camp 4?

July through September (approximately)

In order to have a reasonable chance of finding a campsite, you should arrive at the campground of your choice before noon on weekdays and mid-morning on weekends. (Camp 4 usually fills by 9 am; Tuolumne Meadows Campground may fill by 8:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Other campgrounds are easier to find space in.)

Camp 4 has a one week limit until Sept. 15, and it seems to get harder and harder to get around that limit every year.

To answer your question, if you get in line at the campground kiosk by 6 or 7 AM you will more than likely get a spot.

go midweek and line up by 6-630am

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
