DescriptionThis volcanic-tuff bouldering area is located a short distance east of Hwy 395 in the Mono Lake basin. The rock quality ranges from good to poor and the problems are limited and scattered. Aeolian Buttes lies south of Mono Lake and west of Mono Craters. It is the oldest volcanic area in the basin. Getting ThereFrom 395 take West Portal Road east for 0.2 miles. Turn left and follow this road for another 0.7 miles to the Stone Crusade Boulders. The boulders and parking are obvious. The Parking Area Prow is located on the overhanging boulder just southwest of the parking area for the "Stone Crusade Boulders".
