Description

Granite Basin is a large granite dome located a little east of Sagehen Summit. It can't be seen in its entirety from Hwy 120. This is the home of the classic "Hair Raiser Buttress".

Getting There

From 395, take Hwy 120, east for 19.6 miles. Turn left on a dirt road and follow it for 1.3 miles. Take a left and head north for .5 mile. Take another left and follow the road 0.8 miles to this dome.
