The West Face of the Serengeti Boulder. This side...


Description 

The last and farthest group of boulders on the canyon floor before the bend, just before the 'Slight Inducement Area'. The 'Serengeti Boulder' is the large lone boulder sitting in middle of the flat canyon floor. This area offers great warm-ups, highballs, traverses, and moderates with short, steep hueco and pocket-ridden faces.

Possibly the best moderate in the canyon.Start on the undercling/sidepull fin on the left of the overhanging face. Move up and right on sloped dishes up to a big move off a high left-hand crimp to a sloper (crux; an intermediate right-hand crimp can be used). After pulling thru the crux, gain the 'Africa Flake' (jugs/rest) and find nice positive pockets and edges to the top as the angle eases off....[more]
