Description

Cow rock is the smallest rock of the Hillcrest boulders, but has some fun problems and is your best bet for warming up. Cow rock is less steep than the rest of the rocks - almost perfectly vertical and is pretty short. Crash pads aren't even necessary, but probably are a good idea.

Getting There

Walk off Hillcrest drive and head a little right through the closed gate (there is also a direct trail that requires you to duck a barbed-wire fence). Once through the gate, head left and pick up the faint left trail. Walk uphill for a couple minutes until you see a couple large rocks about 30 feet to the right. Cow rock is the furthest away, seated right beside a pretty tree. All of the routes face away from the trail, but you will be able to identify them as bouldering problems when you see them.
