Summit Rock has been shut down for seasonal raptor nesting; however, County Parks wants to make this a blanket, indefinite closure, continuing long after the chics have fledged (i.e. between Feb. 1st and July 31st).
For more info, visit the Santa Clara County Parks website and look for the Sanborn County Parks Master plan.
On the rock left of Summit rock proper, and the only route facing away from it. The crux is the mantle move near the bottom, then the face above the ledge is rather simple and enjoyable. The route is rather contrived in that every move could be avoided by climbing left of the bolts, but then that wouldn't be any fun!

I would say this is probably an "s" rating, as the crux is a few feet above the first bolt, and the potential for groudfall if you screw up is high. Finding anything to put your hands on is VERY height dependant in the crux, and there's not too much there if you're short (like me).
