BETA PHOTO: The 5.8 Face

The Climb

This is the nice face perpendicular the steep face of the Dog Pile, offering solid edges up either a moderate highball boulder problem, or a TR for the timid.

Boulder Problem or a bolt for TR

As seen in the picture, there are two separately spaced bolts on the top of the face allowing at least a few different variations, probably at different grades. The 5.8+ rating of the route posting reflects both my experience bouldering this the easiest way up 15 years ago and the old guide that I referred to back then.

Climbing out left near the round arete is harder (5.9ish) than going straight up the center of the face, just left of the chockstone (5.8ish)... Either way, classic highball slab on good incut edges! Sack up and get on it! Or be a puss like me and headpoint it.
