A nice little cragging area located on the flanks of Iron Mountain overlooking Ramona. Mostly short sport routes in the 5.10 to 5.11 range but longer and more moderate routes do exist. Typical compact San Diego granite. Some routes require a cam so bring a small rack up to 3".
The crag is mostly South and East facing so it will recieve morning sun and lots of it.
The 2003 fire closure is no longer in effect so go out and climb! Be alert of fire damage to some bolts and rock.
Getting There
Park just South of Poway road on the 67. Take the very popular hikers' trail up toward Iron Mountain. At the trail fork (1.5 mi) hang a left toward the Ramona Overlook (additional 0.5 mi). Just past the trail junction with the overlook keep heading North toward the crag. It will be in view at this time.
