The Southwest Face of Crag at the End of the Universe is the first wall encountered from the trail. It is approximately 50’ high and quite vertical. There are two horizontals that create a couple small roofs on most of the climbs, all of which really earn their stars. The granite is pretty nice and has a solid grain that causes hands and feet to stick well. There are two large pine trees growing close to the wall near its right end; be mindful of these as a lead fall could bring some nasty encounters with the branches.

The Classics
Mountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Southwest Face:
It must be another universe altogether because the guidebook mentions this face as being 75' high, which is a bit of an exaggeration.

I think if one measures from the ground, on the "low" left side of the face, to the top of the wall, it might approach 75'. But I made a fairly accurate measurement of rope used on this climb which tells me the routes on the right end are about 50'.
