BETA PHOTO: Lower Dinosaur Rock, Keller Peak.

Description

Lower Dinosaur Rock, the larger of the two formations, is split by numerous cracks of varying widths and also has a number of bolted sport routes. Highlights include Wooly Mammoth (5.7), Balding In Peru (5.8), Sprockets (5.10c), Earth Daze (5.10d), Extinction (5.11b) and Savage Puppy (5.11c).

The rock here is extremely sharp, even by Keller Peak standards, so taping up (for the crack climbs) is highly recommended.

Getting There

Lower Dinosaur Rock is easily approached via a good trail which starts from the edge of Campsite 2. Plan on about 5-10 minutes for the approach.
