Description

The Slide Zone, a transitional area between ground level and the huge dirt/rock pile that's beneath most of the Quarry, is located between the Slander Sector on the left and The Shield on the right.

Climbs here range in difficulty from 5.8 to 5.13+ with the majority of the routes in the 5.12-5.13 range. Some of the better routes here include The Lowdown (5.10a), Burnout (5.10b), Silver Streaker (5.12a), Gravitational Attraction (5.12b), American Idiot (5.12c), Running on Empty (5.12d), King Pin (5.13a) and Energy King (5.13b).

Keep in mind this area is still being developed, which can make route finding a bit tricky.

Getting There

Head right past the Slander Sector to reach the left side of this area (which sits up high), or walk left past The Shield to reach the right side (which is located at ground level).

Does anyone have info on the new routes in the slide zone? There is one route, on the right wall (to the right of a triangular slab) that is very steep, clean, and long. There are draws on it right now. Anyone know name / grade?

Thanks

The route is called Mud Monster (5.14b), and although it's not been redpointed Julian Bautista is very close to sending it.
