BETA PHOTO: Back Wall. Note the HIVE's location and steer clea...
Description
Sunny Wall in the morning, probably shaded in the late afternoon. Pretty uncrowded wall. Rock quality varies. There are several good top ropes on this wall as well as a few lead routes (never seen any of them led though, so don't know if that's entirely true).
This wall currently sports a large beehive in the center (marked in the photo). The more north and south routes can still be climbed relatively safely as the bees don't seem that aggressive. Also, I've noticed the bees don't get going till around 8 am, so if you're super stoked about climbing something near them then pull off a stealth sunrise climb and tell everyone its rated X due to the extreme welt factor ;)
Getting There
This is the large / prominent wall around the corner (east) of Beethovens Wall, which is actually this walls North Face. Walk up to it on any of the well trod trails.
Warning! The beehive located in the center of this wall is home to some very aggressive bees - they'll attack without warning - a teen was hospitalized and a dog killed here in June 2008.
The steep get steeper! A way fun route up the big solution pockets to the moment of truth almost right at the top which, surprisingly, can be finessed rather than brute forced - don't forget to finish this off with the obligatory Stoney mantle move....[more]
