Description

Mount San Antonio, more commonly known as Mt. Baldy, is the highest point in Los Angeles county. The south bowl of Baldy has had a history of ski mountaineering dating back to the 1930's and the "Sierra Hut" is still popular with skiers in the winter and spring. Numerous short couloirs add fun starts to the open bowl. In a "good year", San Antonio Falls, which is located on the approach to the bowl and summit can form into an ice route.

Getting There

Take Baldy Road from Claremont or Upland to Fall Road, located just below the ski area. Park and walk past the gate toward the Baldy trailhead.
