Williamson Rock is under a temporary closure to all recreational uses, including climbing, pursuant to a ruling by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that the area is critical habitat for the endangered yellow-legged mountain frog. Efforts by the non-profit organization Friends of Williamson Rock, in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service, are underway to regain climbing access to Williamson. Description
This is the short, east-facing wall just up and left from the Voices Wall with an assortment of routes from 5.9 to 5.11+. Routes here aren't as long, continuous or steep as some of the other walls, but the climbing is enjoyabe enough and it seldoms seem to be overly crowded.
Getting There
Hike past the Mushroom Boulder/Voices wall and then up a short section of low-angled slab to reach the base of the wall. The approach for Eagles Roost Buttress, Ego Buttress, Sick Wall and The Cave all start here as well.
