Description
North Cave Rock constitutes the northern-most of two large formations that make up Cave Corridor [a 30+ foot wide corridor of rock between this rock and South Cave Rock]. Cave Corridor lies directly south of the large Ryan Mountain trailhead parking area. This formation is closest to the parking area, about 100 yards away.
Rock tends to be a bit loose and/or grainy. While the grains are mostly small in size, they don't seem to clean up very quickly.
Getting There
Routes are found on all sides of the rock, with the south face lying in the corridor proper.
For routes in the corridor [Happy Meal 10a/b, Caramel Crunch 10a, Banana Splits 10d; and Rocky Road 11a/b] and routes on the east side Pox On You 11d, and Whipped Topping 11b]; best approach is to take the Ryan Mountain Trail south for about 100 yards, then angle right.
For routes on the north and west sides, head more or less directly for the rock.
