Description
The Hollywood Area is a remote collection of giant boulders and some smaller formations lying in and about washes and scattered about some rocky hillsides. The approach is the longest in the Oz Area and gets you into an area that sees little traffic despite the high number of climbers in the Park.
Getting There
Park at the south parking turnout (see OZ overview for details) and head west in the wash past the turnoffs for Valley Of Voices and Emerald City. About 500 meters past the Poppie Field Boulders you'll encounter a rough section with some boulders, after which the wash levels out and becomes sandy again and opens into a broad, open valley.
Hollywood lies to the south (left) and North Hollywood to the north (right). Plan on 45-60 minutes for the approach depending upon your hiking speed.
