Any route or boulder problem that starts out of or near an occupied campsite may not be done without first obtaining the campsite occupant's permission.
Description
The Zebra Cliff area is mostly NW and NE facing and in the shade much of the day. The northeast end gets sun in the morning while the southwest end gets sun all afternoon. The area is known for great rock and good splitter cracks. For the most part the climbs are on great brown varnish. Recommended routes include Cut Thin to Win (5.10c), Such a Line (5.10d), More Frozen Food (5.10d), Zebra Dihedral (5.10a) and The Sand Truck (5.11c).
Getting There
Park in the G Loop in Jumbo Rocks Campground and walk south 1/2 mile. The Zebra Cliffs appear on the right and are the nice brown cliff band on the small plateau.
Such a Line is the proudest crack line at the Zebra Cliffs. This Yosemite style splitter is strenuous and intimidating. An awkward right leaning hand crack leads to a pod (5.10c). Exit the pod and climb the right hand branch to the top (5.10d). ...[more]
